When should we book a newborn session in the Netherlands?
Ideally within the first 14 days; we'll hold a flexible window around your due date at our Voorschoten studio. This allows us to capture those fleeting newborn poses while they're still naturally curled up from the womb. We recommend booking during your second trimester to secure your spot in our calendar.
Do you shoot at the Leidseweg 553 studio or on location?
Both. Our studio in Voorschoten, Zuid-Holland is available year-round with multiple styled rooms and natural light; outdoor sessions work beautifully at golden hour at locations like Katwijk beach, Leiden's historic streets, and local parks. We can also come to your home anywhere in the Netherlands for a more intimate setting.
How long does a typical photography session last?
Newborn sessions typically last 2-3 hours at our Voorschoten studio, allowing time for feeding, soothing, and capturing those peaceful moments. Family, couple, and portrait sessions usually run 1-2 hours, giving everyone time to relax into the experience. Golden hour sessions are precisely timed with sunset times across the Netherlands, which vary seasonally.
What camera equipment do you use for your photography?
We primarily shoot with the Canon EOS R6 paired with the RF 50mm f/1.2L lens for that dreamy, cinematic depth of field. For wider environmental storytelling, we use the Sigma Art 35mm. Our signature look comes from shooting wide open (f/1.2-f/2.0) during golden hour across the Netherlands' beautiful landscapes and in our naturally-lit Voorschoten studio.
How many images will we receive from our session?
Each session includes 25-40 carefully edited images, delivered in both high-resolution and web-optimized formats. We focus on quality over quantity, ensuring each image tells part of your unique story. All images are individually edited—never batch processed—to preserve the emotional quality captured with our Canon R6.
